Pauline, Cardiff, South Wales, UK

I have a long and varied career working in Health and Social Care, specialising in mental health and integrative psychotherapy. I now teach others starting out on their journey as skilled helpers. I have joined this summit because my PhD research focuses on intergenerational trauma with particular focus on epigenetics and the transmission of somatic toxins during pregnancy. I am also interested the long term impact of stress and the causes of chronic physiological conditions. In order to decompress from my busy work and lifestyle, my friend and can often be found hiking and rambling in the Welsh countryside. We use the time and space to reflect on personal and academic issues. My friend has even started a podcast called ‘The Rambling Academics’. This particular picture was taken at Waterfall Country in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons National Park). The image depicts the notion that stormy weather often leaves debris that can block or hinder the ebb and flow of the water. However, water is malleable and will therefore always find a way to its destination. Much like the human psyche.
