As I absorb this incredible collection of presenters, I realize how lucky I was to pursue my MSW at the Univ of Denver in the early 2000s, so near to the pioneers of somatic research and application like Pat Ogden, Peter Levine, and their colleagues like Bessel Van der Kolk. We met so many of them in person and participated in more intimate workshops and presentations. That I integrated this material into my mindset so early in my endeavors was luck and good fortune, because it set me on a course to come full circle now, from working with trauma in children to families to military service members and now, as I enter a new chapter of my service, to supporting adult survivors of childhood abuse through a tele-health platform as I seek to reach into rural and remote areas that lack local resources of this type.
